High Tea Coonara Springs music

Music is key to ambience in High Tea experience

An afternoon out for High Tea is coming back into fashion, and there’s an abundance of restaurants in the Dandenong Ranges and Yarra Valley “puttin’ on the Ritz”.

We were lucky enough to experience Coonara Springs‘ lavish and delectable High Tea, and found a pleasant experience was heightened with the use of music.

Enjoy our Q&A with restaurant steward Oliver, who has been setting the auditory experience at Coonara Springs.

How important is music in the overall experience?High Tea Coonara Springs music

Music is one of the most important aspects of creating atmosphere in the dining room to create a memorable experience for the customer.  Without correct music to match the atmosphere, there is no ambience. This can be one of the most attractive aspects of a restaurant; it is integral to setting the desired mood, be it elegant and relaxed or a lively festive vibe.

How do you choose what to play?

The music we select for any service will vary depending on the customer demographic of the day. The day’s weather, the season, and the menu of the day can also influence the music selected.

Who are some of your choice musicians that you see as integral to the high tea experience?

You will hear a variety of styles at our restaurant, including Jazz acoustic, and French Bistro style playlists. Some of the artists you will hear include Melody Gardot, Dianna Krall, Ella Fitzgerald and Janet Devlin.

But don’t take our word for it, make a reservation and check it out yourself. High Tea can be booked for the first Thursday of each month from 12 noon until 6pm at Coonara Springs.
