An exciting addition to Victoria’s open gardens this spring will be the first time in many years Marysville will open its garden gates to the public.

Held on November 22-23, the post 2009 bushfires, restored and renovated gardens will be at their best and brightest thanks to some excellent rainfall over the past few years.

The community of Marysville is opening up its gardens and green spaces, and invites you to come along and explore the village. Several gardens will be open such as the Waratah garden, which hosts an impressive collection of unusual and rare herbaceous plants, with some varieties on offer for sale.

Delderfield is another jewel in the crown of Marysville; a sprawling two acre garden with sweeping lawns, rose garden, a parterre and a vast vegetable and fruit garden. Visitors will be able to partake in refreshments on offer and listen to the sounds of Casual Affair while exploring the esoteric garden art.

The private gardens are not all that is on offer in Marysville this spring. The village centre, known as the ‘Marysville Heart,’ will not fail to impress visitors. The space has been beautifully landscaped with public gardens hugging the banks of the Steavonson River, and encompasses a children’s adventure playground, visitor information centre, Community Centre, lake and sporting fields. The Marysville Heart is a great place for a quiet stroll, picnic or to just let the kids run wild. The community of Marysville is very proud of their new village, and extends a warm welcome to the public to come explore this spring.

Look for the Open Garden Marysville signs around the village and be sure to pick up a booklet, complete with maps on how to get to each of the gardens. Maps can also be obtained from the visitor information centre. Tickets are $3 per garden, all garden tickets are available at a discounted price and go into the draw to win a hamper of garden products.
