On the banks of the Birrarung, cocooned by the surrounding mountains, Oscar’s on the Yarra is a century-old guesthouse, long cherished for its warm hospitality and connection to nature. The historic property continues a long tradition of welcoming travellers seeking rest, renewal, and the simple pleasure of time spent by the river. To mark a new chapter, Oscar’s has partnered with Amy Salisbury of SoulSauna Group to offer a slow, immersive wellness experience in the breathtaking surrounds of the Upper Yarra.
Oscar’s has been a gathering place since the guesthouse was established in the 1920s. Visitors spent long summer holidays filled with lively pianola sessions, Christmas pantomimes, croquet on the lawn, fishing on the riverbanks, and leisurely games of golf. Nature has always been central to the Oscar’s experience; guests came to breathe the clean air, wander the bush tracks, and settle into a quieter rhythm. Owned and cared for by the Birch family for almost ten years, Oscar’s continues to provide this haven for guests.
