True Colours

Creativity flows freely through the veins of artist Clair Bremner. Born into a creative family, with a mother and grandfather who were both painters, Clair grew up in a world of painting and making.

“I was surrounded by creativity and was always doing arts and crafts at home. I made clothes for my Barbie dolls and teddy bears, coloured in and painted,” Clair recalls. “At school, I was the arty kid; the one drawing in the corner of an exercise book, instead of paying attention.”

Clair focused on painting and drawing through her high-school years, although she describes her style then as more technical and realistic, unlike the whimsical and vibrant artworks for which she has become renowned.
