POET AND PAINTER, BELINDA ROGERS, SHARES HER BEAUTIFUL WORDS

PHOTOGRAPHY | Supplied

Belinda Rogers is a world-renowned artist, who has lived and worked in the Upper Yarra Valley for decades. As an emerging artist many years ago, she was a passionate supporter of Yarra Magazine from its inception, recognising it as the community collaboration that we’ve always been. As her distinct style became recognised and Belinda’s career flourished, we have loved seeing her work being celebrated across the globe. As she prepares for her latest exhibition in Hobart, Tasmania, in early 2026, Belinda found the time to talk to us about her process. Belinda’s exquisite responses are unedited; her words are also her art and reflect both her process, and her gentle heart.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what led you to pursue a career in the arts?

My life as a painter was forged by devoting myself to something I loved, and heart is what matters. I believe we plant the seeds for the garden we wish to walk in, and this becomes our legacy.
