Matt Binney and partner Bianca are the owners of Heartwood and Lulu’s Burgers in Yarra Glen. Heartswood was recently awarded One Hat in The Age Good Food Guide 2023. Matt chatted to Pip Young about his career, and shares one of his delicious recipes with our readers.
Where did you grow up? What are your first memories of food / cooking?
I grew up on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland and spent a lot of time cooking with my Nana. We both have a penchant for sweets and baking so there were always biscuits and cakes to be had – though they never lasted very long!
